The Game Supercollider was Gamelab's fourth massively-multiplayer offline game for the Game Developers Conference. In Supercollider, players were assigned to one of five teams and received hands of Supercollider cards. By making poker-like sets of cards, players received colored stickers that they could place on the Bubble Chamber board. The teams chained these stickers into lines, and the team whose lines connected to the most scoring areas won. An elegant fusion of simple rules and compelling social play made Supercollider a chain reaction at GDC. The Design One of our most social GDC games, in Supercollider teams had to collaborate as they traded cards to make the highest-scoring hands, and then also plot strategies together as they placed team stickers on the big board. | |
