In this hyperactive video game collage, you play four retro-inspired videogames—all at the same time! Complete with eight unique mini-games, customizable backgrounds to unlock, and a blip-ified sound-track by Michael Sweet at Audiobrain, Arcadia may be the first post-modern arcade classic. The Design Arcadia is a game collage, in which the pieces of the collage are themselves simple mini-games. As you play, you have to manage your own attention and focus, getting into the syncopated rhythms of different games that are playing at different speeds. Rather than a single window into a coherent illusion of a world, Arcadia offers multiple simultaneous views, a media experience closer to the information overload of our daily lives. With the recent launch of Arcadia Remix, we’re retired this original version of the game. But it lives on in our game-playing hearts... |    |
