Joshua DeBonis
Programmer (2006-2007)
Joshua's passion for games started with his family - making war games with LEGO figures to play with one brother and playing Atari 2600 games with the other. His parents were very supportive and exposed him to numerous board games, but they wouldn't let him play D&D. Naturally, he rebelled and started making his own role-playing games on his father's computer. He would sneak into his father's office late at night, downloading games from BBSs and teaching himself to code. This proved an asset later in life, as he found work doing commercial software and eventually independent games. Alongside his love of games, Joshua fostered an interest in music. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a BA in Music. He is a jazz saxophonist and underground hip hop MC, who regularly performs with the live hip hop band Trippopotamus. In his spare time, Joshua is interested in military history and historical war gaming.
Joshua's favorite games
Advanced Squad Leader - This is the mother of all wargames. Lots of rules. Lots of pieces. Lots of maps. Everything is very historically accurate and detailed.

Nethack - I've been playing this one for as long as I can remember, and I've still never come close to ascending. But I have died in many many interesting ways!

Galaga - Since we got the arcade machine here, I've been addicted. I think my current high score is about 115,000.

Puerto Rico - Just a great game. I play it online a lot at Brettspielwelt.

PaRappa the Rapper- I love hip hop, I love video games, and I love paper thin dogs, so this is a no brainer for me. Plus my friend Dean did the voice of Guru Ant in Parappa 2!

Katamari Damacy - Sorry I couldn't stick to just 5!
